Privacy policy
In short: Blocky Blitz has no accounts and we run no servers, so we never receive your personal data. Version 1.0.0 contains no ads and connects to nothing. From version 1.1.0 the game shows ads from Google AdMob to players aged 16 and over; Google collects some device data to show them, as described below. Players under 16 see no ads, and no ad service is ever started for them.
Who we are
Blocky Blitz is made by Affordance Design LLP, trading as Affordance Design Studio, Bangalore, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Blocky Blitz app for Android (package design.affordance.blockyblitz).
What the game stores on your phone
The game keeps a small save file in its own private storage on your device. It holds:
- your best score and your coin bank;
- the runners and blasters you have unlocked and picked;
- your settings (vibration, sound, music, left-handed fire, reduce motion);
- which tutorial lessons you have completed;
- from version 1.1.0: the year of birth you give when the game first asks, and a count of your game overs, which paces how often an ad may appear.
This file never leaves your device. We cannot see it. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes it.
The age question (version 1.1.0 and later)
The first time you open version 1.1.0 or later, the game asks for your year of birth, once. The answer stays on your phone and is never sent to us, to Google or to anyone else. The game uses it for one thing: if you are under 16, it never starts the ad service, so no ad data is collected about you at all. If you are 16 or 17, the game asks Google to treat you as a teen user, which limits the ads you can see.
Ads (version 1.1.0 and later)
For players aged 16 and over, the game shows two kinds of ads from Google AdMob: an optional video you can choose to watch to revive after a crash, and an occasional full-screen ad after a game over (never during a run). Every ad is limited to content suitable for the game's own age rating.
To show and measure these ads, and to prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:
- device identifiers: your Android advertising ID and app set ID;
- approximate location: worked out from your IP address;
- app interactions: for example which ads were shown and tapped;
- diagnostics: for example how the ad loaded and performed.
This data goes to Google, not to us, and is sent encrypted. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices about ads
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks you before any personalised ads are shown. You can say no and still play; you may then see ads that are not personalised. You can change your answer at any time in the game's Settings, under Privacy choices.
- Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, in your phone's settings (Settings, then Google, then Ads, on most Android phones).
- The revive video is always optional: you can pay with coins instead, or decline.
What the game does not do
- It does not ask for or collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, photos or any other personal information.
- It has no accounts and no sign-in.
- It contains no analytics or crash-reporting services of our own.
- It has no in-app purchases. Coins are earned by playing and have no real-money value.
- Version 1.0.0 does not connect to the internet. From version 1.1.0 the game uses the internet only for ads (Android permissions: internet and network state, the advertising ID, and the ad-related permissions Google's SDK adds), plus vibration for haptic feedback.
Sharing your career card
At the end of a run you can choose to share your career card. The game draws the card as an image on your device and hands it to Android's share sheet. You choose where it goes (for example a messaging app), and that app's own privacy policy applies from there. We never receive the image.
Children
Blocky Blitz is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. Players who say they are under 16 see no ads, and the game never starts the ad service for them. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, and we hold none.
Your rights
Because we never receive your personal data, we have none to show, correct or delete. For data Google collects for ads, you can use the choices above or contact Google through its privacy policy. You are welcome to write to us with any question.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game changes any of this, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above. The Google Play listing shows the same information in its data safety section.
